canambear~ Are you talking about the Continental Divide? What location? Is it the USFS or the BLM that is shutting it down? If it is the Forest Service what National Forest or BLM land is it?

The first step to keeping our trails open is personal involvement, locally as well as nationally when possible. I do not know where Montana is in the trail inventory and designation process that is the first step. Are you able to give me more information? If so, I will see what I can find.

Join the Blue Ribbon Coalition and do a search on what is happening in Montana. Unfortunately the trail inventory and designation is a National mandate from the Feds and there is no way I can be informed and up to date in regards to each state. The process is very complicated with different nuances in each area. The only way to truly be an asset is to be involved personally with your local USFS or BLM. All action they take must be public so I am sure they can bring you up to date.

Please let us know what you find out and the members of the QuadSquad will do what they can to help Montana out.
