When it comes to carbs I try to stay away from them. I bought a 97 Suzuki 160cc for my son, but it seems to be choking itself all the time.
Also noticed the air cleaner wet with gas. Would like to be able to set this carb up myself. Anyone have any advice.

Most ATVs of that generation have CV carbs, with a "choke" (starting enrichment system) depending upon a probe uncovering a fuel port to enrichen, fuel-wise, the combustible mixture . . .

Unfamiliar with your particular machine, I won't try to generalize any diagnosis and treatment; a service manual and exploded parts diagram (I feel certain the images at least are on the Web) should help you do-it-yourself, or . . . shouldn't cost a lot in the shop . . . the devices are pretty simple . . .
