Well Folks...

The mods and reviews will continue for our KQ700 ....I ordered the Sport Utility Clutch Kit from EPI today (part # WE495021) which is supposed to help low and mid range performance on top of what the Copperhead ECU is providing... It should arrive by the first of next week and I will give her a whirl with acceleration, speed and possible pulling tests...

I will let you guys know...

The Coop45 mod is shimming the primary CVT clutch in order to 'gear down' the entire operating range of the CVT. It works like a charm and costs maybe 10$ to do.

You get two mm thickness of shims, 22mm I.D, AND 32.5mm O.D.

Yamaha makes the very size needed, for another purpose.
90201-225A4-00 WASHER, PLATE (Thickness=1.0)
90201-222F0-00 WASHER, PLATE (Thickness=0.5)

The CVT primary cage is removed and the clutch center bolt is removed. Take off the roller ramp plate and the outside CVT clutch face. Then remove the center collar and place the shims on the shaft, and replace the collar. Then put everything back together. It's that simple.

The effect is a reduced the overall gearing by about 5%, about the same amount as was added by your 26" tires.

The effect is immediately noticable. A lower geared 'low' and a much better launch. The top speed is a bit reduced on the speedometer but you are at standard gearing again in the end because you geared it up when you put on those bigger tires. Your top speed therefore ought to be about the same as it was with the stock tires, just that your speedometer will be reading slower than it did at that speed.
Probably more accurate, as the bike is a bit 'optimistic' about your real speed, as supplied.

Pics and details are found on Nyroc ATV

Stroker.... Oh yeah... The wife wants me to mod it... We raced the other day in 100 yard sprints and I spanked her hiny on the Outty and she can't stand it.... She told me "either juice the KQ up or get me a Outty"... so,,, let the juice flow....
And for the kids...My 13 year old is the only one that rides it now and she won't get it over 15 mph at any time....
