I was looking at this mod, it looks pretty simple. It looks like just adding two washers or "shims". Is that it? Is the spacer already in the clucth? Also what is a good way to clean the belt and do I need to replace any fluids when I do this. I posted this on this forum because so many people chime in I kinda get lost. Also what is up with the yellow EPI spring? should I try this while I am doing the coop 45 mod? If yes, I will have to research this also.
thanks for your help

From what I know of it, this mod is fairly easy. The shims you need are a sled part and they have the P/N for them on Nyroc. You may need a strong stomach to walk into a Yamahoo dealer to order them though! ROFL Coop 45 says there is a loss of a couple mph on the top speed but I have a feeling it's not that big of a deal. I think with this mod you won't have to replace the oil but you do if you do a clutch kit. I think you also have to make a holding tool for the sheave to undo the nut that holds it on. I don't recall what they have said is better about the yellow spring but you can definitely find it through a search on Nyroc. As far a cleaning the belt goes I would suggest warm or hot water and a decent soap with a toothbrush and a cloth to clean that. I would avoid solvents or harsh chemicals. I'm sure Glenlivet can give you even better advice when he chimes in.

Well, I finally got it done. I ordered the parts from atlas honda on the 22nd of feburary and received them this monday, the 3rd of March. A little less than two weeks.
I could make a couple of suggestions on the install. When you use the spring compression tool, add two 1/4x20 nuts on the bolts and set them about a 1/4 down on the bolt. That way you can put them in the two hole and use the bar to turn the spring. I hope you can visulize it.
I didn't spend alot of time riding tonight, the neighbors might of gotten mad. But I do know it will climb the tree in the front yard in high gear. And it will pull the front end off the ground again. I did it in high and low gear. I had to raise the air pressure from 3psi to about 7 psi. And set the springs a little stiffer.
But for $40 dollars it made up for the power I lost when I put the 26" Maxxis bighorns on.
I think I will either drill the primary weights out or replace them with 20 gram weights. So far for the price I think it is worth it.
