I received a letter from Suzuki announcing a Ignition Switch Replacement Program for certain 2006 & 2007 KQ 700s and 2007,LT-A400,Lt-F400F and 2007 & 2008 LT-A450X ATVs.

Suzuki has received field reports of a engine no-starting condition or stalling due to a malfunctioning ignition switch. Suzuki dealers will replace this switch free of charge.

Ya we are going to get the new ECMs and ignition switch's in the next few days,.... all though we have never had a problem with the switch or run down battery's from the ECM,...I keep them on a trickle charger all the time. But what the hell they are free so I will get them.

Hey Lucky#7,
I contacted my dealer and he said I would need to know the VIN # and then he would run it through the Suzuki system. Does that sound correct?

Your name or address is tied to the invoice inside their computer systems ....which has the VIN in your profile....so all he needs is name, social security number, etc... to tie it all together..

I got the same recall notice for my '07 700 KQ, and it helps to make sense of the stalling that happened twice in one day last summer, but never happened before and hasn't happened since. Both times I was going about 45 mph and the motor stopped running all of a sudden and everything locked up, luckily I was on a gravel road both times so no damage was done. It concerned me at the time, but obviously not enough to make me take it in to get looked at. And since it hasn't happened again, I figured it was just a on-time "ghost in the system" and no harm done. But now I will take it in, since it will be a free fix.

Dropped off son's 450 at the shop this morning. Ignition was getting pretty bad...was often taking several off/on jiggles of the switch before things powered up.

I finally got around to making an appointment to get my 450 in last week. I brought it in and to my suprise, they actually had my appointment in the system! Thumbup Not only that, they were done in about 45 min. Not bad!
For the record, I have not been having any difficuly with the old switch, but I had to take advantage of free preventative maintanance.
It beats being on the side of a mountain with a dead machine. Cool

I called and dropped mine off Saturday. The svc guy said the parts were in stock and it was a 45min job. It would be ready Sat or Monday. well here it is going on Wednesday and no call. Which is about what I expected. As long as it is ready by Friday I am happy.
