This new quad does not make any sense to me.... The new 750 will have a 722cc engine.... the 07 700 KQ I just bought has a 695cc engine.... Why not go a little bigger... only an increase of 27cc... Shrug

Maybe the engineers didn't think the cylinder wall casting had enough meat to support a 4mm increase in bore and opted for just 2mm. Maybe the ad execs just wanted enough to slap a 750 badge on it.
It's not new for Suzuki to add lots of CC to the badge that aren't in the motor.
The old King Quad 300 was actually a 280 CC motor.

I was very disapointed when I recived my 2008 Suzuki update manuel and saw that the KQ 750 was just a warmed over KQ700. There is not real updates or changes to the machine othere than the bore and stroke. Suzuki said the increase eliminats the low end lag a lot of 700 owners complainded about. The KQ 700 is a great machine but with the Grizz 700, BF750, reciving major updates I was hoping Suzuki would do the same. We have the new KQ 750's on order, so when they start to come in I'll let everyone know how they do.

I thought I would be in the minority! I think it is very disappointing when you consider all the other brands and the upgrades to their quads. Yamaha has IRS, EFI and power steering. three major upgrades. Honda has power steering. Artic cat has the thundercat 950. Can-am, artic artic cat, and polaris all have 2 seaters. Plus all the utv's that are coming out. You look at that and suzuki adds 27 cc's. I wouldn't trade my 05 in. But they need to catch up with the jones if they want to keep selling quads in this class. I mean if the king quad came with power steering it would be awesome. Plus I heard polaris is coming with a bigger bore (1000 cc) next year. Right now if the wife was going to get a quad it would be the yamaha grizz with power steering. Very disappointed they didn't give us something to drool over.

They should have atleast updated the styling. But its funny how when the KQ700 came out it was everyones ATV of The Year, and now it usually finishes dead last in head to head with other machines. Suzuki is still selling plenty of KQ so they are not real motivated to make any major updates yet, hopefully they will next year.

It appearers that most of your opinions of the new 2008 Suzuki are disappointed in the offering. I for one don't need power steering as the Suzuki steering is light and positive in its stock form as it is. Just one more expensive do-dad gimmick to break and to be able say that mine is bigger/better then yours, The Yamaha is a good machine,.... but they had to play big time catch up just to stay in the same ball park with Suzuki that was 3 years ahead and they had to do it with a gimmick, power steering,.....the new must have. Slap Shrug

As far as finishing dead last to others in head to head, this might be true in the mud, butt not every one likes to wallow in the mud and destroy an ATV in one season,...where I ride on the trails, logging roads and cross country the Suzuki is still second to no none, the TOP speed is equal to 800cc machines and it just depends on the rider on who will be in front if that is your game. The styling was the best in IMHO when it was introduced,it has all the bells and whistles is still is one of the better well appointed ATVs on the market and gets 28 MPG,...so if you are into one up man-ship and you have the money,....well you know what you can do.

But when it comes to the best bang for the buck, ...I say that SUZUKI is still #1 2thumbs

I agree with you Stutz, Suzuki has never been one to engage in the cc wars, they addressed a major complaint (low end lag) in an attempt to refine an already great machine. I think they are on the right track. We'll see....

The only thing I disagree on is the power steering....have you rode a quad with it? If not, you may wavier a bit on that opinion. I did.

I am quite familiar with the KQ 700, and actually love the quad. However, the KQ 700 and KQ 750 are virtually the same machine. Bumping up the ccs is not going to make many people to make that leap from 695cc to 722cc. Keep in mind the 695cc is more than enough power, and I could careless they did not put a monster v-twin in the machine. Again, in my opinion for the majority of situations 750cc+ is a waste.

They really need to follow Yamahas lead from when they went from the 660 to 700 Grizz. The changes they made on those machine are significant, which makes buying the grizz 700 worth buying over the 660.

The bigger point is there is no significant changes from the 700 to 750, simply boring out a 695cc motor is not enough. You can get incredible deals on the 07 model 700 KQ, and worth buying over the Kq 750. I highly advise people to buy the Kq 700.

Overall, the Kq 700 is still a great money for the features, it is a rock solid machine, but the 08 KQ 750EFI is a dud in my opinion.

Watch on the VDI, Voodoo. My brother in law has the KQ 700, and he was been watching the VDI chip closely, and apparently the gains aren't very much. You mention you may join my mag site. He is on there, and you can post the question to him, and he can give you more info, if you are interested in the chip for the KQ. But, yeah, the power difference isn't a night and day difference, and a few changes could make it even closer.
