Well it wass a pretty morning to go riding, so I loaded up the old trusty stead ( yamaha). Headed out for the hills. ( we call the mountains the hills around here)
Hauled up to Honubia Mananagement area, unloaded and took off down the dirt portion of Hwy 144. Seen an interesting turnoff that didn't have one of forrestry barriers on it ,so up I went. MISTAKE, about thirty minutes later I tryed to climb a hill that look like any other hill I've climed before, no biggee.
Boy was I wrong!!!!!!
The wheeler flipped and then rolled over me pinning me to the ground. I managed to reach up and turn the engine off, Gas was coming out of the vent tube and all over me.
After about an hour later I wass about to dig and crawl out from under the wheeler. So I assessed my physical damages. Afraid to take my hand out of my glove, hand unuseable without great pain, leg couldn't stand on it with out help of leaning on something.
To make a long story short, with help of winch and great deal of pain, I got the wheeler upright again and unwedged it from two stumps..Got it up out from the bottom of the hill.
5 1/2 hours later I got back on the wheeler and rode it back to the truck and loaded it up..
WENT STRIGHT TO THE EMERGENGY ROOM>
glove still on hand, limping and covered in mud. The had to cut the glove off the right hand, it ended up being broken in three different places, my leg had two cracks in it, and had to have thirteen stiches in the back of my head, I didn't eveve realize was hurt.
Broke my glasses.
I know I should have had my helmet on, but just didn't.
Bad sunday, should have gone to church.

I am so glad you are going to be OK Bear. Just a few seconds can change a nice ride into a nightmare but the good news is that you were able to get to help, no easy accomplishment for sure.

I wish you a speedy and complete recovery. Smile

Wow bear, glad you made it out. Hope you heal up quickly. That is one great danger all of us that ride alone face. I have rode with you and know you are a safe rider but yep, wear that helmet.

First as I tell everyon who has an injury, when it quits hurting it will feel better. banghead Second, I can't chastize you for rideing alone without a helmet as I used to do the same thing. After getting bucked off my ATV a couple of times I never have ridden alone again and after my brother had his 1st accident we never ride without a helmet. Here's for quick healing and getting back on the "horse" again.

Wow, that was a close one for you and I am very happy that you will live to ride again. A group of riders is strong, while the lone rider is a victim waiting to happen. Not telling you anything that you don't already know. Hope you recover quickly and completely.

Holy cow, sure glad that you made it back alive.
To be caught/trapped under any machine after it flips over on a person has to be scary enough let alone to have it happen when your all by yourself.

Sure am glad that you made it.
