I don't think it would have any thing to do with my decision either way. If we are talking about your brothers machine, I can't think of any reason to mention what happened with it. The machine had nothing to do with it, what happened affected machine in no way.

Have to agree with cob on this one, no reason to tell them what happened, just tell them it is no longer needed by the family. I assume their is some fixing up to do ont he quad? Bent handle bars or broken plastic? discount accordingly and move it out.

Parts are being ordered to repair. Nothing was bent, just some plastic parts broken. I had told little brother (who is fixing it up) that I wouldn't mind fixing it up for myself. He said that would be ok, but he would never ride with me (or anyone else who bought it).

To ease little brother's mind, I would sell it to someone you never ride with. Take the money and just go buy yourself a different one. Don't tell the potential buyers anything about the accident. Put it on ebay and get someone out of state to buy it. It's not worth upsetting little bro. My 2 cents.

I think LITTLE BRO is over reacting but thats ok we all have our own way to deal with grief. Life goes on and time will heal many wounds.

The plan is to sell it. The money is going to be used by my sister-in-law (she never wants to see the ATV) to buy a popup camper so she and her adult daughters can go camping. After my brother told me how he felt, the thought never crossed my mind about what should be done with it. For those who went on the Central City to Rollins pass ride in Nov 2005, my little brother was the one breaking trails with the chains on his ATV.

I remember....I agree with little brother, just seeing the quad brings back bad memories. Sell it, no need to mention the accident to the new buyer and cause any second thoughts. I would imagine he would want the money to be used for his wife and daughters to enjoy the great outdoors. Very nice plan on her part.

Nope - time doesn't heal the wounds; you just don't think about it as often.

Wayne, I'm down in Thornton and I'd be willing to help you sell it (for free) whether it be on eBay or Craigslist as being in the Denver area might possibly help. If I can be of any help, don't hesitate to email me at rockbanger@comcast.net

Thank you for the offer. My brother lives in Northen and has lots of experience selling things (he even sold our dad's old Yamaha 3 wheeler a couple of years ago)
