cc is gonna be pissed though. As I see you have to get the XT model for the black color option only. This quad looks awesome. With all the previous improvements now this. Very nice. I think that new skid would be all I would need unless you plan to beat the hell outta it.

The black, new front end all look awesome.

Nice...I think you would still want to cover the floor boards and put a hunk of metal over the nose instead of just plastic. 9% more power...I noticed when they showed how it compared to the others on the graph, they didn't include the Thunder Kitty. Different class I guess? It would take power steering to get me to pull the trigger on a new one. Maybe next year.

I agree with you on the PS.One more thing If you are ridding with Polaris's you must have to lead a lot.

Naw, not really. We let Cob lead, he knows most trails really well, I usually hang around in the rear so no one see's me if I screw up. I like to be there to help if there are any problems too. Or take pictures. taz

Guys I have decided after 2 years of debate I am going with the 800r xt. Gonna go to the dealership in the next few weeks with a deposit.

Hopefully they will get one by August or so.

Also note there will be a full ride review with video of the new 800r at Atv Frontier between now and Monday. So lookout for it...... Briefly I was told it runs cooler, smoother on the bottom and more power on the top. Plus the handling was better and the power more controllable.

Anyone find any pics of the new black Outy's. I am not wild about the 800s new nose, however the rest of the lineup is also availabel in black and they have the old nose piece, so that will be an easy enough fix, the 650 nose plastics should't be more than a 100 bucks or so.

2009 Outlander 800R "BLACK" Ordered

Are you still Hung Over from Broken Bow...I think it looks good....

At a 9% increase in HP ...stock should be around 67.6 right????

Question for you canned ham guys, is the frame as bad as I read it is?

What does all that power matter if your frame will buckle running over a pile of socks?

Well one reason I held off. Seems like its not a problem if you add skid plate. Since BRP is providing a new skid with the machine now I may be in. I would think you really have to abuse the **** out of the machine to damage the SST frame now.

Now as far as wrecks or collisions go that would bend a frame. But I don't remember the last time I had a bad accident on an ATV. But I will get insurance anyway just in case...But I am a pretty safe level headed guy/rider.

You got to put a skid on it, like you should any frame if you are riding rocks...I've rode a lot of technical terrain and rocks, I should put up a pic of my skids, I've had to pull them off several times and pound them flat again, mainly the ones under the floor boards. they are thinner aluminum compared to the frame skid. My frame is fine. So no, they are not as bad as you hear, but I suspect you are trolling....
