This might sound kind of crazy but, I bought a 2008 800 XP and the thing gives off so much heat that I actually end up getting a heat rash on the back of my legs. I know ha ha. :>Wink
I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with all the heat and maybe some fixes. It appears I could pull off some of the plastic and increase air flow but not sure.
Thanks,
Sparke

Hey Sparke, you probably seen this a topic of discussion for all big bores. Some melting plastic has occured. What I and many others have done is get the exhaust pipes and muffler ceramic coated at Jet Hot or one of those places. It helped a lot on mine, though I still get some heat thru the seat, my side plastic does not get any where near as hot as it used to.

I thought I had read that CanAm had incresed the heat shielding on later models, but do not know when that began. The other option is to go faster....do you ride at slow speeds a lot?
