Guys..
once again I need help??
Ive tried 5 dealers that sell CanAm close to me in San Antonio, Austin and McAllen Texas..
And all are saying that they dont really have an ETA for the 2009 model of the 800R Max LTD...
I need it by August if I cant get it by then I will have to settle for a 2008, wich I dont want.

By any chance can anybody help me, with their local dealer to see if they have a shure date for the arrival of this model.
Or are there any dealers in this fourm that will be getting this earlier and can give me more info.
If somebody has connections with their local dealer that can help me pull this off I would really apreciate it..

The thing is, there is a big ride in september, from Guadalajara to Puerto Vallarta (550 km, attending close do 1500 atvs)
and I made arrangements to go, but I already sold my Sportsman so I need this ATV by then.

Thanks again..
Burner

To get this ,09 ATV imported to Mexico with a Pricetag of 11,500 would mean 2,300 at least.
If I get the '08 model would mean 1500 +/-300.
Thats because older models can be imported as USED...while '09 model come as new.

The big Question is...
Do you think the improvements of the '09 vs '08, outweight the import fee and the difference in the price tag??

Because I can get a '08 tomorrow...im just tinking it twice (quicker 4x4, 9% more power, different color..etc..)

Unless you are gonna be racing...U definitely do not need the extra power..plus the 08's improved the 4wd system to engage faster as well... What color were you looking at getting???

I don't think so Burner.... The 4wd upgrade was in 08 and don't think they did anything else to it for 09....

So I have been told the main difference in the 09 is in the setup of the engine. The only appealing thing to the non power junkie might be that the new tuning is also supose to also make it run a little cooler then the current 08 setup, I doubt its much, or really that noticable though. Another thing that is new for 09 is the factory skid protection, not near as protected as the aftermarket skids, but at least they did give it some protection where it was needed the most.

The visco was updated with the 08s.

Are there not any Can-am dealers in Mexico. I just surprised you have to import one to the country that they are built in.

I'd get the 08 - save the money, get the atv right now. The skid protection on the 09's really aren't all that amazing anyway, I'd just get an 08 and put a set of Ricochets on it.

The Visco Lock improvements were done on the 08+ model, the only real feature improvement of the 09's Vs the 08's is the added HP and factory skids (and small cosmetic improvements).

Yeah!!! there are dealers in Mexico..
but, if you buy it in the US its considerably cheaper including the import fees..
and since I live in a bordertown its much closer to go to San Antonio, TX for warrany and parts...than to get the ATV in Monterrey, Mexico, wich is the closest mexaican dealer..
I can finance the ATV in the US though my US Bank and Save a lot of meoney specialy in intrest rates..
where as in mexico intrest rates are way higher.

I did notice the skid plate and the power increasae, and was confused about the visco 4x4.
What I really was looking forward it the red color...all of my existing gear maches with this color since, mi sportsman is Red Flame.

I do want a 09, but I think the benefits are few and I would shurely save some money on the '08...
Today dealers will start to call regarding the quotes y requested this weekend, lets see what they have to say and then ill make the desition.

On the other side, what type of boxes/bags do you recommend for this ATV, ive looked at can-am gear and they are nice but a little expensive, with a quick release system.

What do you have installed to carry all your gear??

The setup im looking at is this??
since my manin use is going to be for long trips.
I tend to lean toward bags instead of boxes, some bags have more features and space, where boxes are small. Im going to install a kolpin kit on the back rack to hold the flat tank up.
What have you seen that works with this setup??
front and rear.
