Can't say that...I had a problem...one of my rubber hand grips came loose. ROFL

Actually Cob, you're wrong, I'm on Highlifter a lot, and I just went and looked, the top 20 posts are all questions about upgrades and comparissions except for one guy asking about antifreeze in his oil.

Jeesh. Gotta tell you that here in Pagosa Springs with the nighttime temps drifting down to single digits, the Outtys are stored for the winter and the poor 2000 SP500 is sitting out under the carport exposed with the snowplow attached. It starts up every time. Dang it!

I can't kill the dang thing!

My '05 400 XT has already had to be in the shop to have the actuator replaced. Also, I need to reroute the carb bowl vent so it doesn't lose power when I'm running in creeks that are over the floor boards. Finally, how can I get this thing to stop wobbling in the front end at 40 mph or faster on hard pack?

Hey Whiplash, do you have after market tires? That's what always induced the wobble on my quads. Either way, you need to find someone, or some how to get them balanced.

These are the stock Carlisle ACTs on stock wheels. I have a set of MudLite XTRs that wobble about the same on ITP Type 7s. My Popo 700 doesn't shake at all in the front end with XTRs.

I'll run by my buddies shop and see about balancing them. Can I use stick on weights like on mag wheels with my Type 7s? I spend some time in mud and water on a fairly regular basis.

Hey Dude! What's the chance of getting a picture of how your snow plow mounts on your bomb? I got a plow I think will work but can't figure out the best place to make the rear hookup. I got the 650 Max XT so I have a winch to raise/lower it.

Don't go to any special trouble. A 4x5 Sinar corrected for distortion would be fine Big Grin Any closeup of the connects to the machine would likely get you on my Christmas card list Big Grin

The plow would be a handy thing to have on there as then I'd have something that might break so I can partake of the discussion here in proper fashion !! Otherwise, my bomb sits in the barn ready to run Dance

So no one has anything to say about the actuator failing in the first 5 hours of life on my Outty?

That's why they have warranty... Shrug was it a one time thing that was fixed? What actuator was it? Parts fail.

Dog, I'm not sure if you are talking to me or PB. I have a Cycle Country plow mounted on my 800. I used the same plow mount that was on my Polaris 700 and bolted it to my skid plate. I was concerned about bolting it to aluminum (the BRP plates are pretty thick compared to others) but no issues and into the second year. If the skids weren't there, I'm not sure how I would have mounted it. If you want pics, PM me your email address.

THis was the actuator that engages the front dif. My dealer indicated that there were a substancial number of new '05s with issues with the actuator. The only rub for me was that I bought the bike in the spring and my work changed dramatically after I took a management position and didn't get a chance to really ride it until the initial 6 month warranty was up. I had to cover the $50 out of my pocket mainly because the selling dealer didn't go over the bike as well as they should have. I believe the part was bad when I brought it home simply because I had less than 2 hours on it when I tried to engage the 4X4.

Anyway, I had to throw that out there since I like both my Popo and my Outty.

Cheers!

Nope, these shake like a prom queen from day 1. I get the same shake with my ITP wheels and XTRs. I haven't had a chance to get them balances yet but I hope to have time to get the stock whels and tieres mounted back on the bike this weekend. I'm putting the Type 7 wheels and XTRs up for trade is anyone is interested.

ya, its funny how nobody has problems here with their Bombs...lol...thats because there isn't many Bomb people here, but if you go to another place, lets see:

This is on a Bomb 800:
"Loaded up the beast the other day and it quit on me. Started checking on everything checked the oil and it was milky just changed it and rode maybe 20 miles parked it no reason for water to get in there. checked radiator and resivior empty? Filled it up changed oil checked it this morning AH more water everyone thinks headgasket I am thinking waterpump have you noticed where it is. And also engine runs to strong for headgasket leak! Exhaust is not wet either. It would not bother but it only has 400 miles on it"

Another Bomb 800:
"I posted a while back on the kaw forum that I had a 07 Can-am 800 xt in my shop that had 87 miles on it that is having to have a crank replaced. Well I did alot of research and talked to a bomb parts rep and decided that the price I had found for the crank ($874) was for the rods and the crank and rod bearings. SOOO, I orderded the part #, well, I got it in yesterday and guess what I got??? Just the crank. Suprise, Suprise! I had a feeling this was gonna happen. Now I have to order the rods ($155each) and the rod Bearings ($15each) 4 req. These are the most expensive atv parts I've ever had to buy. We could do a full motor jobs with some perf parts and labor for the price of the parts"

"hey.. ym 2003 outlander 400 isnt starting w/ the electric start.. all it is doing is making a clicking sound.. i thought i may be the solenoid replaced that and still makes the same noise.. could it be the voltage revualtor?? or what can it be.. thanks for the help... "

Another 800:
"Has anyone experience a situation where the brake lever would squeeze like thee cable was snapped and then need to be pumped up? What would cause this? It happened a lot tonight but it was driven in deep snow for two days. Could something be iced up?? This is an 07 with about 22 hours and maybe 150 miles"

Another 800:
"the is really a question for someone that went ridng with us today.....he had an 800 ( not sure what year) and we were riding in sand and he stoped to shift and when he shifted it would not move at all in any gear after that ......just curios of what might have happened

sound slike the helix issue, what tires does he run

No the 07 has the new helix, the 06's had the problem. There was a thread showing the difference between the 2"

"I have finaly gotten tired of my front-end diving whenever I hit the brakes. It really sucks during night driving because the lights point right into the ground. I don't really want to spend the money for the Elkas so what other options do I have? I have heard that some owners have had the problem fixed at the dealer by using springs off a Max. Any suggestions? "

'07 650 XT:
"went for a ride around the yard and the speedo was reading much higher than I was going and seemed to be reacting to the throtle revs. also no mater what I set the gauge for eg. rpms, engine hrs, odometer etc. it kept returning to rpms. Has anyone had this problem"....

etc.
etc.
etc.

as we know, all machines can have problems, the Bomb is a good machine, but will still have problems
