Last time I spoke to EPI, they told me their kit was for Outty's with really large tires for muddin' and didn't recommend it for a stock machine, is this something new? Must admit the guy I spoke to was a bit of a smart butt...worse then me! And not real friendly.

Keep us posted VD....

If you are running 26" big horns at 7000 pus feet You most have done something to the clutch.

It must just be springs. I didn't notice the price first go round. That makes more sense.

Good to know...I am running 26" Horns above 7000', still have the factory clutch. I like solid engagement at the lowest RPM possible, do you think the springs or Reny weights would help that?

ConfusedYou could use The 8000ft BRP weights they raise engagement about the same as the epi spring. You can also adjust the secondary

I think the EPI springs are gonna raise RPM engagement..not sure on the Outty...plus I have never added just springs... The Renny weights makes for a smoother transition on take off..

Do you run with any other outty's if your just ridding with Polaris's your stock weights will do.If you want to come to the bigsky and run with the outty's I can help you with the clutch.

Well... Got it installed and tested out the EPI Springs for the Clutch today.... And to be honest... I don't like it!!!....

It raised my engagement RPM's up to around 2100 or so ..from 1800 ... I guess I am just used to that snappy throttle response at lower RPM's.. As far as power.... there may be a little increase in the low end and mid range , but nothing to write home about...

Other than raising RPM engagement ..I can't tell the difference between the EPI springs and stock springs...

I will probably put the stockers back on...

The stock set up or the cowtown kit at sealevel or below 3000ft is probaly the best way to go unless play in the mud or deep snow.

After putting over10,000miles on a 800 outty I would bet you your belt is fine.If you want to carry a extra belt go ahead and put a new one on and then you would have a good spare in case you burn up a belt.

You are probably right, but I am a maintenance overkill kind of guy.... Put a new one on and keep the used for a spare is a good idea...

The reason I like a used belt for a spare is if you do burn a belt You need a good belt to get you going. They also say that a belt needs to be broke in before you use it hard.

I have decided to keep the EPI springs in until after a ride we have in Oklahoma coming up at the end of the month.... We are gonna have some speed tests there..and I want to see how it compares to stock springs...

Update...

I took the EPI's off...because I just did not like the Higher RPM engagement..made the quad jumpy in tight situations...

I feel it did give some low end power improvements and maybe some mid range, but hurt top end by about 5 mph....
