Good Evening Guys! I have a question on where I would go to determine the price of my atv. I'm looking to sell my 2006 Bombardier Outlander 650 XT - red. It has 2000 miles on it and hand and thumb warmers from BPR. I would like to sell it but am not sure where to sell it or how much to ask for it either? Let me know if anyone has any tips?
Thanks Smile

I think that it's worth about $6,055 on the nadaguides.com. I think that would be a good price to sell it for if someone is interested in it?

You can also get a good idea of what they are selling for if you look at the completed (sold)listings on eBay. Assuming some have sold recently.

$6K sounds a bit high to me...but I don't really have a clue.

You know we have to ask...what's up?

Let's see I actually have 1954 miles on my machine and it still has the balance of the extended warranty which is almost a full year yet. I'm putting a brand new battery in today and then I'll take some pictures to post with the ad that I'm thinking about putting on Craigslist or ebay.

the truth is I'm tired of going wheeling by myself. I don't want to drive all the way up there every time by myself then hang out with all couples at breakfast, lunch, and dinner on my way home. Not that I don't absolutely love the people I've met in my wheeling club because I do love them all. I'm just sick of feeling like the odd one out all the time. I have been thinking about it for a while and if I sell the 4 wheeler & my pickup truck. Get an economical small car and focus on making new friends that are my age, single, etc. I'm sure I'll find other things that I like to do besides 4 wheeling. I guess I'm just at a point in my life where I'm sick of the fact that I'm in a sport or activity where I'm forced to hang out by myself over half the time whenever we go wheeling. I'm not sure if that makes any sense, but that is where I'm at right now. I'm sure I could get into other activities if I tried them out. Who knows though maybe I won't be able to sell it. I just am looking for a change - thinking about taking up running in 5K's and marathons.

Oh and by the way I'm not looking for sympathy or anyone to tell me I need to look harder for the right person or try online dating etc. I'm just stating that maybe I've outgrown my 4 wheeling hobby and it's time to look for something else to do that's a good time.

By the way my club went up to Nemadji today and I didn't end up riding because my battery went dead. Frown Oh well I'll hopefully be putting in a new one tomorrow morning in time for the parade.

You guys are welcome to let me know what you think - I just don't know what to say and a few of the guys in my wheeling club were not happy when I said I was looking to sell and quit - but I think in life everyone goes through different things and makes changes.

I'm still waiting to outgrow this hobby! Smile

Chin up. Good luck. Like Voodoo said you need to find a few good riding friends that you have a few more things in common with.

I found a bunch of old f@rts to ride around with, works for me. Big Grin

I ride solo quite a bit with other couples, even so it is a release for me. I get out all the stress on the trails. I never mind riding with couples for the simple reason that we share the same love of the sport and all have a good time.

Good luck to you, hope you find something that gets you away from the normal day to day BS.

I don't disagree with the fact that I need to find someone my own age to ride with - but I've been riding for a little over 2 years and I haven't found anyone at this point I'm just not sure that I'm going to be able to find someone by joining clubs - I'm a member of two different clubs and I volunteer for everything that I can trying to open doors and meet new people. Thanks for the comments and suggestions. My dad says all the time that he thinks that there is a guy out there for me ... I just need one who's not intimidated by a girl who is independent and does her own thing most of the time.

Makes sense to me MG...life is short, do what will make you happy! Can you afford to just park it for a while and see what happens while you go on with your other plans?

Hard for me to imagine that as a problem...most of the guys i know wouldn't have it any other way.

Warning...I just went thru the dead battery thing. Have your charging system checked out. I had a bad stator NOT charging my battery. You may have already done it...but just in case.

I just checked the charging system and it's putting out at +14 so I know that isn't the problem - besides the wheeler runs when it's going it just won't start after you shut it off ... so we'll see what I've got in the morning when I get up and try to get everything put together. I'm going to hit the sack for the night.

I guess I could park the wheeler for a while and just let it go, but I'm not sure I want to keep making the payments on it and not just sell it out right - my truck is paid off but rather than just go buy a new car - I'd rather have no debt before I go into a car payment if you know what I mean I'm careful about my money because I'm single and I just think that it's important to error on the side of caution when you only have one income. So what I was thinking is I'd sell the wheeler pay off what I owe on it - then sell the pickup truck - then use the money I make after paying off the wheeler and the money from the truck to put towards a new car so my payments wouldn't be big and I'd have some freedom to do more things such as travel etc. Just a thought... I'm not sure what I want to do and it's not that I don't love wheeling it's just kind of hokey that I end up spending 5+ hours in the truck today alone because I don't have buddies to go wheeling with - and to be honest the wives kind of frown on me hanging out with their husbands. Which I understand... but most of my wheeling buddies are married guys.

Well I better hit the sack - I've got a big day tomorrow and a whole lot to figure out with the wheeler in the morning so I'm going to bed!
Talk to you guys later!

Who knows maybe I'll decide to keep it - right now I just feel like I'm not sure what the best thing for me to do is and I'm really not enjoying 4 wheeling like I used to .... Sometimes I wonder if I'm doing it to keep my wheeling friends happy because that is my main group of friends at this point.

You should do what makes you happy, not everyone else. I'm sure there are lots of guys that wish they could meet a girl with her own quad and something to haul it in. Someone who isn't afraid to go out and have fun by getting a little dirty at times.

This past weekend some friends an I took a motorcycle road trip up to the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. There were a couple of guys that went stag (including myself), the rest took their wives along. It was really no big deal to me. I just couldn't see dragging the old lady along on the miniature pillion pad on the back of my chopper.

LOL! That is so funny! I understand what you are saying there, I'm not too into the motorcycle thing myself, I rode once with Lon, but I was scared on the highway because the cars were so close, it just wasn't my thing. Not that I wouldn't try it if I was with someone who had one it's just I like four wheeling so much better. I mean after all if I'm going to get off squeaky clean - I might as well have just taken the truck or stayed home. Just my opinion.

As for the 3rd wheel thing I guess I'm just not wanting to be the third wheel anymore & while I'm sure that it didn't bother me a while back, this is the third summer I've spent going to and from wheeling rides by myself and it's just getting old. Try going three whole summers of riding to every ride, trail maintenance, meeting, atv pull, atv fair, south dakota trip, by yourself and then let me know how well you like it? Again just my opinion - but that gets a little old. driving Shrug you know?

Yeah, not everyone can be into motorcycles, especially one like I have. It has a hardtail rear suspension which means that the big black round thing (tire) in the back IS my rear suspension. Surprisingly it doesn't ride too bad, but it does have it's limits. As far as staying clean, I did get pretty grimy when I came home from that trip. Lots of road dust and the occasional idiot hauling a load of sand in the back of his pickup at 90mph will get you plenty dirty (LOL).

After looking at pictures of you in your photo gallery I have a hard time believing that you could have a hard time finding a male companion to ride with. Yes, you are good looking IMHO, but you may need to find another place to look for male companionship. I'm not suggesting bars or anything like that, but I did have success with an online dating service. Besides, if someone who is as old and ugly as myself can find someone online, surely someone as young and pretty as you can.

It's very true ... every one of those guys that are in my atv club that were in the pictures from the parade are married. I hang out with them but I don't 'go' riding with them. It would be nice to have some single guys to hang out with but I don't have any in the club. I'm not into online dating - tried it a couple of years back and let me just say this ... the guys are pretty pissed when you aren't interested in letting them close the deal after the 1st or 2nd date... which isn't my style.
I'm not a drinker and I don't smoke so the bar isn't somewhere I hang out unless we stop w/ my wheeling club or something during or after a ride. I work out at a local gym in my town. I just think it's one of those things where if there aren't a whole bunch of single people in the group you hang out with them - it's harder to meet new people who are single. It's not that I'm super worried about finding a guy - because I don't 'need' one as much as I think it would be fun to have someone to do things with such as four wheeling & atv events etc. I guess the other reason I'm not into online dating is because the past experiences where I've tried it haven't been that great, plus if I did end up with someone and get married and have kids - I don't want to tell my kids that I met their daddy online. LOL! Just me & maybe I'm a little more traditional. Oh yeah and HIGH MAINTENANCE ... that is what my ex-boyfriend says... although I think high maintenance is another term for HIGH QUALITY! 2thumbs ROFL Big Grin devil Hope you guys are having a great day! It's beautiful here today! Wish I had the day off!

Believe it or not, it's a Honda. A lot of time and effort went into making a metric chopper. From the forks (which took four months to get), to the triple trees (three months and came with NO directions), to the LED side mount licence plate holder / tail light / brake light / turn signal combination (three months) and the tank stretch, seam roll, pop up gas cap and paint (three months). The worst thing is, if that would have been a Harley, I could have had those parts in less than half the time at half the cost.
