Thought I'd start this so others can post any experience they have had with the "new" visco, we're all interested how much (if any) the improvement is.

I was at the dealers today, they had a BRP promo poster on the wall touting the new visco, the exact wording was "instant power is sent to the wheel with the most traction" but the graph did make it look like it was still progressive and the more rpm, the more engagement.

It will be interesting to see how this works out....eagerly awaiting LaMigras reports.

I'm really hoping to keep this thread focused on the new QE Visco, if you can make a movie of the QE in action, of course we'd like to see it. Preferably in the rocks with one wheel in the air!

I checked with the local dealer and he said they were at least a month off from arriving.

I don't mean to be rude, but I don't think anyone wants to hear Polaris vs CanAm jibberish or how many times (insert name) repaired his (insert brand). Smile

Big Grin

Sorry for the above, had to mess with you.
I am also very interested in just the facts of how the new Visco works, but not interested in the bs these threads normally turn into.

Cabman....that's why I started a new one, if it heads that way at all, I'll lock it. Let's keep it light and informative. New developments are rare in ATVing these days, so it should be interesting.

A easy way to test visco Loc would be to jack all the wheels off the ground but one front and see how long it takes to lock in and move the ATV.

And if it happens to work....who will repair the dent in your car from the quad taking off across the driveway? or the hole in your garage wall...etc. Maybe there's a better way to do it.

Jack the rear off the ground, jack the front off the ground, place a 2x6 4x4 or what ever under 1 front tire, and let it down so that one tire has grip.

Put on your helmet, safety harness, EMS on stand by, get on, start, put in gear, and try to go with 3 wheels airborne. Have somebody else near bye in a safety zone watching to see how long it takes to engage. If you have the equipment, a high speed camera, so once viewed we can see the outcome in slow motion.

J and I have actually done this test in our garages of all the traction systems, all the videos are on my magazine. We tied ratchet straps to the tires, and gas'd it. This test was done in conjunction with our "real world" test videos. Its all there.

If you get a chance to check out the BRP brochure for the 2010 models.....look at the tires on the XT on page 6.....look like Big Horns to me. It's some guy racing all covered with mud.

Sorry to hear you're banged up Bear, nothing serious I hope. Heal fast....

We only want to see video of the QE system being put to the test. Do you have a 2010 Renegade with the QE?

Seeing is believing, looks like BRP has this one nailed. He stated his 09 rotated 2 full turns before engaging the free wheel, 2010 looks like the QE is instantaneous.

Looks very promising, nice to see that you don't have to rev it up for the second wheel to engage. I still want to see it in the rocks, under my butt. Smile

Thanks for the link Kenny
