Cob's right, I have seen this on several ATV sites, they have been replacing it, but you still have screwed up plastic. Bound to happen again.....

I just bought an 07 650 Xt in Camo. So far within a week a huge chunk broke off the right rear fender ( 10 inches long and 6 inches wide), the left rear fender has a 6 inch crack in it and the front right has a crack. Have another buddy with an 800 and his camo cracked all to hell also. BRP replaced his and I'm going to make a warranty claim on mine for a new rear fender and then build a set of tube braces underneath the rear fenders somehow so I don't shred the new set.

Welcome to the site Steve, wish you were joining in on a happier note!

I was wondering if the '07's were any better, don't sound like it.

I've seriously considered replacing the camo on my 400XT with yellow plastic. If I had to pay for it out of pocket I would definitely pay for solid color plastic and replace it 1 piece at a time.

Thought of that too but I really like the camo. Got them to put the propper XT wheels on instead of the black ones. It's an XT but doesn't come with the nice wheels? What's with that? I guess some guys figure if you're hunting you'll be able to sneak up on game better with black wheels.

Just put the ricochet kit on tonight. Besides the camo issue I absolutely loke the bike!

Update: Talked to my dealer today. They called Tech support and the guy they talked to said they acknowledge there is a problem and they are in the process of fixing it. They are mid way through a new batch of camo using an entirely new process apparently. They suggested I wait untill mid March and the new camo will be out and they will most likely replace my rear fender.

Spent the day and made up tree sliders for my rear fenders. Used 1.25 inch square tubing ( 100 wall) and bent it around inside the fender line so that it pokes out about a quarter inch. Tied it into the square tubing under the fender at the back and about half way down the fenders. The trails here on the west coast of Vancouver Island ( Canada ) are pretty tight and some of the trees are a real bitch to get around. Problem solved now and new rear camo on the way soon.

Thats great at first when the reports started coming in about the CAMO they were denying it, but as more surfaced they began to cover them. I think many of us at first thought the reports were exagerated and it was just plain abuse. No way you could do that just riding along, well it did happen and to many. It's good that BOMB is admitting their problem.

I HAVE BEEN LOOKING TO TRADE MY 660 GRIZ FOR AN 800 XT IN CAMO FOR THE LAST 3 WEEKS. THE DEALERS WON'T SAY WHY THEY CAN'T FIND ONE. NOW I KNOW. THE DEALER SAID I WOULD HAVE THE FIRST ONE THAT COMES IN. THE DEALER TALKED ME OUT OF THE SKID PLATES. BUT AFTER READING THIS FORUM, I THINK ILL HAVE THEM PUT ON. ONE QUICK QUESTION FOR STEVE. HOW DID YOU GET THEM TO THROW IN THE ALUMINUM WHEELS? I DONT LIKE THE BLACK ONES EITHER. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD WORK INTO THE DEAL BEFORE I TAKE DELIVERY?

I just told them to throw them on instead of the black wheels. I guess they wanted the sale Smile Doesn't make sense to put the ugly black wheels on the camo, lets get real, are you really going to sneek up on game with black wheels instead of aluminum wheels?

I think the new camo should be coming out soon.

Oh yeah, get the ricochet skid plates!!!!!! If I didn't have them my whole frame would be toast allready. The ricochet are a bit thicker and beefier than the Bomb skids. I don't think they are much more money either. The dealer knocked $400 off, switched the wheels and forgot to charge me for the hand warmers.

Can it worked out to $14,400 after tax. (650 XT)

Of course Steve is right Walt. Skids are not an option. They are a must! I'll post some pics of mine after one year soon. Your dealer is doing you a favor by making you wait for a camo, the new plastic is suppose to be out in March.

I hope that price is Canadian.....

Hey Walt, next week you can help me put my new richochet skid plates on my Renegade. After hearing what I've read so far, you might just want to go ahead and order a set of plates from Ricochet now, so that you can throw them On when the machine is brand new before you bang them up when it does come in. The ricochet skids will work better than the skids from can-am, because they'll cover the floorboards too.

Welcome to the site KAS!

I use the BRP skids and a-arm guards and had to order the floor board protectors from Perfex. Nothing else was available when I needed them.
The Ricochet's are a better answer, they cover everything, and they are cheaper.

I haven't yet put my new Ricochet skids on, I opted to go without the A-arm skids, even though they offer a better deal if you get both as a package. I was more concerned with protecting the rear center beam. The front of the Renegade at least comes stock with a thin aluminum plate, and I'm glad because it seems to bottom a lot when the front suspension is compressed. So far my rear only bottomed once and it handled the hit pretty well. That's when I realized I better get something more before the drier rougher months months arrive.
